I'm posting this in the New Worlds challenge on CGHub, and I'd like some criticism. I'm not happy with the composition, it looks like I just threw that space ship in there as an afterthought.
Edit: I'll update it later, but I've been moving and rotating the ship and failing to place it, so I might just shrink it down and throw if far in the background.

I hope someone else enters the challenge too, just me and one other guy...

so, im not sure exactly what more to do with this, but im not really happy with it. decided to post just so i could be done with it.

That moment when I figured out the light source was completely backwards on the monolith really sucked.
But I learned a lot about clouds, and how not to angle them all similarly.

Prompt of the week is "Monolith". Just use it as a jumping off point, if you want to incorporate it into a character or vehicle, go for it.

And yes, it is because we were talking about 2001 yesterday.

.... got a design I liked... stopped there though... no point in going further since the things I wanted to do with it are out of my skill level at the moment... and anything less would come off as a disappointment to myself since I have an image in my head of what I want to do.

Started out as a speedpaint, but all the interesting lighting made me wanna push it.

I've found I work better at higher DPI. Helps to hide my inexperienced digital brush strokes.

Im trying to do screenshots from the movie Hitman. I'll probably do 10 in all so far I'm halfway there. I will post them all together when I'm finished. The top one took a little over an hour and the bottom about 45 min.

so, im not that good at environements, but i think it turned out ok, 50 mins and i got frustrated.
