I'm not a writer, but I'll post the story I came up with that drove the idea for this piece:
"The monstrosity that is Cthulhu emerges from the mists after a deep slumber and lets out a triumphant roar as he spots his first of many meals that his loyal worshipers have left behind."

Awesome Carlos! Nice figure in the foreground.
I really like the painterly way you approached this, great colors in the little detail bits of the creature.
Great value pattern and overall design. The two foreground rocks verge on symmetry, but otherwise - kick ass!
carlos, good lord man, awesome. only weak points i see are his legs, but it doesn't detract from the image overall. good stuff.
Very nice man.. Great atmosphere and overall very compelling. Because he is pushed so far back his form gets lost...not sure whats going on with his right leg. Is it a tentacle?
you son of a bitch.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree about the legs. My whole plan for that was to cover them up completely with mist/atmosphere but I didn't do a good job of that. That right leg has a bad tangent with the tail so that it looks like the leg turns into the tail.
I was having fun painting this and got carried away. I took waaaaaay too long on it but I think the results were worth it.
Hah, Frazetta chick!
yup, she fit perfectly for what I wanted so I threw her in there at the end.
