scott this is an awesome image. i think the stars are a bit distracting, could maybe be toned down a bit to make sure they're not taking attention away from the figure. its not THAT distracting, though.

since you went with a more traditional astronaut, wouldn't he be tethered to a ship or something? i think it'd be interesting to see what is supporting the dude, wayyyyy in the background.

Yeah, they could be toned down a bit. Was actually going to have a hand reaching for him in the foreground, as if it was some terrrible accident... or was it?

he's dead... see the blood?

Cool image. Play around with the composition a bit more and you are set. I agree with justin that the stars do need to be pushed back a bit.

Love the treatment on the planet and the figure - didn't see the blood though - might have to make that more obvious with cracked glass or escaping air? As is it looks like it's reflecting the environment.

Agree on the stars, try inverting a noise filter to get tiny stars too.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Think I'll go ahead and work on it some more and put your thoughts to use.

think about your focal point.

I think I see what you are getting at... either the astronaut or the planet, right? I should lower the value of the planet so it doen't compete with the FOCUS... the astronaut.
