I like the focus on storytelling and the simple composition works for this kind of moment. I am curious about the human's nonplussed expression though - is he bored, dead or unimpressed?
I also wish there was some warmth in the shadows of the faces, but I see what you are doing with the mood.

Good Job. I like the textures you use. For some reason the creature looks closer to the viewer than the astronaut. Maybe if you lit the creature only with the light from the helmet it might pull it back into alignment. This might also enhance the scary mood.

i wish there was some of the alien reflected on the astronaut's visor. other than that, i too find the the expression of the astronaut a bit too relaxed for being so close to a menacing alien.

Nice man! Would have liked to see a little more going on with the helmet face to show it was glass. It looks a little flat as is.
